Ocasionalmente, /s/ y /j/ se asimilan en /ʃ/ no entre dos palabras distintas, sino dentro de una misma palabra. Escucha estas dos grabaciones tan interesantes:

 And there was an ensuing debate in The Letters Page lasting for several weeks about modern poetry (John Goodby, BBC4). /ɪnˈsjuːɪŋ/ →  /ɪnˈʃuːɪŋ/
