Expresiones fijas (idioms)

Muchas expresiones fijas tienen un patrón específico de acentuación que no se ajusta a la LLI Rule. En un gran número de ocasiones —aunque no en todas—, la excepción puede explicarse haciendo referencia a los diferentes casos analizados en este trabajo, y muchas de ellas reflejan la tendencia general a acentuar los sustantivos en detrimento de los verbos. Esta es una pequeña muestra de 25 idioms contextualizados en una frase. El patrón acentual se ha tomado de Jones (2003).
